I know I usually post jobs workers can do virtually, but every now and again I will run across a job category that just impels me to write! lol Every other kid I know has said they had aspirations of being a star! It makes me cringe, but others may like the lifestyle, or they just might be talented! Most of the jobs I discovered are not for remote positions, but if I do find those I will label them as ‘remote’ or ‘contract’.
I have always felt that the entertainment industry was for those who knew somebody that knew somebody! In other words you have to already have connections to get connected, but many stars have been discovered by accident! Or not necessarily auditioning for a part of any kind. Technology has also given businesses other avenues to advertise open positions, so we can find just about anything.
The entertainment industry isn’t just for actors and singers. I used to think that way too, that only performers were suited for entertainment. I had to dig a bit deeper on this subject because those entertainers always need assistants, managers, accountants, tax professionals, and many more talented individuals. So you may be skilled in production, you may be an affluent recruiter, Have top notch concierge or customer service ability, or any multitude of skill sets and find employment in this industry.
I tried to find as many resources that I could to help you on your search. Believe it or not there isn’t too much more than what I’ve found. I find it interesting the change that has occurred in the job market. Are jobs a secret now? I also find that too many people are in the know that don’t choose to share! I don’t understand how people can discover a thing and not share its discovery! Do those two things even go together? lol
Know your stuff when you apply! If you are a videographer you should have video samples of your work ready to be seen by prospective employers.
A singer or actor would need to have demos of their past work or be prepared for a live performance.
Whatever your field of interest you need to be prepared to deliver immediately upon interview, and often employers will ask for past work or other samplings within the application process. Be prepared! Employers are impressed when they aim to surprise and applicant and they are not rattled! Keep it together! Don’t allow others to ‘tag along’ who do not support you, or who will steal your shine!
I performed a separate search for ‘kids’ jobs and the same results came up, so one would assume child stars would use the same avenues to gain employment. As with all my posts when I tell my readers about jobs…. I can’t stress enough how important it is to perform research on the companies you choose before you ever spend money!
