Since there is NO shortage of phone jobs, I thought it would be a good idea to create a list of the organizations that look for virtual operators, support specialists and more. This seems to be one of the largest categories for work at home positions. If you are not use to talking on the phone, or don’t really enjoy it, this category is not for you.
Each company has different requirements regarding the actual work and the equipment needed to provide services efficiently. In most instances you will need a computer and maybe a house phone: though some do allow for VOIP capabilities. There is a level of flexibility added when you work from your own home office and you are more in control of your pay and the hours you ‘choose’ to work.
Perhaps you are interested in changing careers and would like to become an operator. There are many companies that hire newbies and give them a chance to gain skill, but they do receive lower pay when it is usually based on your performance (for some jobs). If you are not good with sales, you could apply for a support or customer agent specialist position.
Even without years of experience most of us have talked on the phone to businesses, doctors, school administrators, etc,. The good thing about many of these companies is that they will train you and start you at the bottom, while encouraging you to succeed and look to improve your skills. Many of the companies are well-known to the public, but there are quite a few that aren’t.
Please feel free to visit the websites of the companies that peak your interest. With these positions you will have a choice depending on the company you work for, whether you will be considered an employee or an independent contractor. There are also positions for those who wish to own their own businesses and incorporate. Please be mindful of the rules to apply. No calls means no-calls, your application will immediately be rejected/denied.
